Are Planets Fated?

I’ve written about this subject a while ago, but it’s coming up again in various client conversations. There is still a general attitude amongst many clients that the planets are ‘fated’, and therefore the challenging aspects will deliver a tough time, whilst the positive ones will fix everything in life. This isn’t the case. What astrology is about is that we are given many opportunities in different areas of life with different timing, and those opportunities have a particular energetic quality. For instance, with Saturn transits the message is that we have to be diligent, patient, work hard and play by the rules, and then we will get our reward. Uranus transits encourage us to break out of staleness and routine and do something different, so these transits have a different resonance and quality.

However, in order to maximise these opportunities we have to meet them with a high frequency, for instance the emotions of love, joy, gratitude or appreciation. Then they will work well for us, and dare I say even the challenging aspects will work well too. My Masters Teacher Noel Tyl used to say that if you are in your flow, all astrology works well. For instance several of my clients have transiting Saturn and Pluto moving through their 2nd house of money and income. People often feel concerned that this will be a tough time for money, but in all my clients’ cases, they are earning extremely good incomes, often more than ever, as they have followed the rules of Saturn to work hard etc and now they are getting what they earned and deserve.

So there is often this feeling that a consultation will ‘fix’ you and your life, that it will be a magical experience and all will be well. It won’t. Astrology is only half the picture, in that it describes the cosmic patterning of the moment for you. It is then incumbent on us as individuals to meet those patterns with the highest level of frequency we can muster, to live them well. If we are living in fear, lack or anger, for instance, the universe will simply mirror back those emotions to us and give us more and more reasons to feel that way, however great the astrological aspects appear.

Equally if we agree that the universe is simply a mirror of our frequency, we can ride out the tide of theoretically tough transits in fine form. If we are in our flow, all will work well.

So your frequency then acts as an override button for the astrology, positively or negatively. That’s why an astrological consultation won’t fix you, but it will explain the cosmic map to you to help you live more strategically and maximise the opportunities. To have a happy and fulfilled life, the onus and responsibility lies squarely at our door as individuals. No-one else can fix this for us, and the challenge in these turbulent times on Earth is that we have to up our game with our frequency even more.

So try not to use astrology as an excuse: so often I hear ‘I’m having a really bad day as Mercury is retrograde’. Poppycock. We may be having a bad day because we believe Mercury retrograde is difficult, so therefore we fulfil our belief. If we believed something positive, then that is likely to manifest (I love Mercury retrograde, being born with it!).

Equally try not to believe that the planetary aspects will save us: ‘it will be all fine when that Solar Eclipse conjuncts my Sun’. No, life will work much better when we raise our frequency and our consciousness, then the music of our unique birthcharts can play magnificently. That’s why increasingly I believe frequency has the bigger part to play in having a happy life, and am always banging on about it in my videos.

We can have a great life with ANY birthchart, even or maybe especially one full of squares and challenges, because frequency is what matters. It’s not only the best thing we can do for our own lives, but it’s the best thing we can do for the collective consciousness too, as we are creating the future in every moment.
