A Full Moon of Intensity
On Friday May 1st we have a Full Moon at 11°20′ Scorpio. The sign of Scorpio, Fixed Water, always carries with it a lot of emotional intensity which many of us may feel building over the next week, even beyond the Full Moon. This is because Pluto, the modern ruler of Scorpio, becomes stationary retrograde at 5°30′ Aquarius on May 6th. Whenever a planet changes direction, particularly an outer planet, their symbolism is magnified for several days to either side.
Pluto will remain at 5° Aquarius until June 25th, so if you have any planets or angles between 4° and 6° of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) you may be experiencing deep changes in your life or feel external pressure for change.

Pluto is the planet linked to power, whether that is external power systems or your own internal sense of power – or not. This Full Moon will highlight these issues as Pluto is also in a powerful T-square to the Sun and Moon.
In the external 3D world it may appear that external authorities are attempting to exert more power, which indeed they are as they feel it slipping away as more and more of us step into our own sense of inner authority and sovereignty and emotionally disengage from the system.
With the Sun at 11°20′ Taurus, the Sun, Moon and Pluto are all in Fixed signs. These are always very determined and tenacious, but there is often a sense of attachment or control that appears as part of that Fixed energy. A sense of not wanting to let go of ‘what is’ to keep control over your life. In Taurus it may express as attachment to material things, or property in your life, whereas with Scorpio it can be emotional attachments and relationships. All this becomes heightened and intensified at this Full Moon, but Full Moons are also times of release, letting go of what no longer serves us. This is what we are being called to do here, to travel with a lighter footprint as we move forwards, navigating our life more by our values (Taurus) than our valuables, if we have them.
However beyond all of this, the Full Moon on Friday coincides with the festival of Wesak, the celebration of the life and work of Buddha. This will be celebrated across the world, and the effect of these mass meditations will help to raise the collective consciousness at this time, and enable us to open to higher wisdom.
So in the coming week, think deeply about how you express sovereignty in your life, how your relationship with external authorities is perhaps changing, how your values around many aspects of your material and emotional life may be changing, and how friendships (Aquarius) and groups may be moving out of your life as you clarify your values moving forwards. 2026 is an immense year or change as we move from the old systems of control (Pluto) to start to feel a greater sense of the power moving to the people, one of the most powerful expressions of Pluto in Aquarius.
